antique chicago: sorry this is a bit off topic . . . i will be in the chicago area in two weeks and will have a few days to myself. are there any good antique radio or boatanchor haunts that would be wortthwhile visiting? i will be near evanston but will have a car.

antique chicago: on friday afternoon, i saw an interesting sight driving north on the dan ryan and the kennedy expressways in chicago. a tow truck was pulling a gm old look bus. it looked like a 35 foot model or maybe shorter, and it was painted white with a tomato red stripe below the window level. and it had an illinois "antique vehicle" license plate.
antique chicago: for antiquing, try the few blocks just east of the intersection of belmont ave. and western ave. when i lived in chicago, there were about 6-10 little antique stores within a few blocks of each other along belmont ave. you may want to double check that if you can as sadly, i've been stuck in cheeseland for the past 6 or 7 years.
antique chicago: i think you're onto somehting with the e-bay being basically a sellers market. but, even at that certain items will not sell well. i sold my cameras over e-bay and really got a goodly sum. not quite what i paid for them originallly, but coming close. out west of chicago there are areas that are filled with antique dealers. if you think you can sell something from one of these antique stores buy it up, in demand if possible then put it up on e-bay. mark zimmerman * chicago
