antique coin: yes, there is a very active community of coin-op collectors out there. ebay even has a group specifically devoted to antique coin-op slot machines (http://listings.ebay.com/pool1/plistings/list/all/category14282/index.ht ml?from=r0). they do provide some restrictions on their sale, primarily because some states restrict or ban their sales and possession.
antique coin: that's pretty much the going price for that particular machine. the fleets are few and far between. i think it's pretty dang cool, and it's worth $400 to me. particularly since i'm slowly collecting antique coin-ops for an early 1900's themed game parlor. i did ask around in here before i bought it.

antique coin: the worst place that i've picked up games at? in over twenty years there have been many really tough spots, from location owners building walls after equipment was installed to all kinds of location with steep stairs. the worse one was a storage clean out that i did for a local antique coin op dealer. he had stored dozens of old jukes, old radios, pinballs, and all kinds of parts in an old 19th century basement. everything was filthy from sitting for decades. the stairs were more like a ladder with a few rungs missing. the steep incline, and every one of the dozen steps with different treads and step heights (6" - 16") made moving these four hundred pound behemoths tough. the floor was uneven dirt (couldn't use hand trucks), and the most of the work area was made for guys under 5', with posts and walls all over. two full days with two helpers, four or five twelve foot trailer loads, then i got stiffed for the payment. a learning experience. i hope nobody here has to ever go through that kind of ordeal.
antique coin: i researched the internet as well as the many catalogs and guides of the public library without success. the coin i'm trying to identify is an ancient gold coin. an antique dealer said it was probably from crete around 500 bc, but having close to no knowledge of the numismatics to verify that. i'm doing this as a favor to my young brother who inherited the coin from an antique dealer.
