antique golf club: when you say they are still available over there, do you mean as new balls in a golf shop, or in antique shops along with gutties, hickory clubs, etc? i don't recall seeing any for sale other than as club club collectibles.

antique golf club: as i received a new pair of golf shoes as a xmas present i was about to ditch my old ones in the dustbin when,as typical,my wife said they would do for gardening with spikes removed.then,as the brown plastic coating was peeling off, she said,"give them a coat of clear varnish! they will do for foul days when your pricy golf shoes may get ruined"so i gave them a coat of antique pine varnish! she'll probably want me to wallpaper them next! moral is: 1.don't let your wife buy you golf shoes,it's not worth the follow up. club 2.if you see a golfer on the course with a pair of shoes looking like an antique dressing table..it's me! regards shipwreck "to soon we get old,to late we get smart"

antique golf club: amagine being in a major car accident in your antique automobile. not a vw but thoes huge metal ones with all the curves i think they might be a 40's ford or chevrolet. the worst part is you couldn't avoid that accident because the car you are driving didn't have sufficient brakes for modern driving conditions... and not only that but you have no seatbelt! the amount of money you put into your antique is now irrelevant because you and your family have golf club all died the day you took your dinasour age ford to the freeway and totalled it. a car designed when safety wassn't an issue... :-( just awfull

antique golf club: henry@sale-ing.com (saler) wrote in message news:... sounds like you're trying to merge two different markets in one paper golf club under the wrong title. garage sales and antique stores are totally different markets, with very little crossover. i would guess that the reason a lot of the antique dealers aren't interested in advertising is the name of your paper, which suggests that you focus only on the yard sale/garage sale (low end) rather than the high end (antiques, identified collectables).

antique golf club: when a shopper goes to an antique store, they're not just payng for the piece, they're paying for the knowledge that the seller has about it and its history, the cleaning and restoration (if any), and a precise assessment of its value. a garage sale shopper might find a golf club great antique at a yard sale, but they'll need to research it, get it assessed, and possibly restore it - all things that are part of the service provided (and charged for) by an antique shop.
