antique lamp: for sale ... moving soon some day ... i've been pretending that i'm 'moving' for nine monthe now. please buy my fake tart-in-a-downpour schwag lamp. fake gold-coloerd brass pseudo antique finish, lots of broken glass parts that twinkle sorta like crystal. full motion lava lamp effect. paid $129 at wal-mart, asking only $575. you might have to disinfect it, once you realize that my name bigdiapers is a description of my obsession and sexual fetish. when i say "moving soon" i'm not talking about getting a different place to live ... i'm going to have a "movement" and then my big diapers will be as full of you-know-what as i am!
antique lamp: the lamp is stunning, which is more stunning than just stunning because stunning is all caps! its got full motion (there's that "movement" again)! did i say that it's stunning! i realy got ripped off when i bought this "fake" antique, actually from a guy in a white van in the wal-mart parkign lot. it's got many layers, but i'll throw in a can of lysol and you can scrape the layers off. also, two free boxes of huggies for the buyer. only used twice.
antique lamp: offering a pair of smaller antique lamp shades up for auction on ebay. they are ending in about 4 1/2 hours (it is now friday, 8:45pm est). highly unusual hand-made pair. metal ribs of shades are wrapped entirely by fine wire threaded through tiny smooth glass beads. (there is a chance the beads may be nacre or mother of pearl but i don't think so.) intricate. beads are all round but the widths and some shapes vary. most range about 2mm - 2 1/2mm or smaller. iridescent tint to the beads when turned certain ways. different colored bulbs light up the shades entirely with the same color. beautiful. measurements of shades are approx. 4 1/2" tall with a 3" top and 6" bottom diameter. both shades appear to have no missing beads. absolutely beautiful example of finely-made antique craftsmanship. bidding is at $14.99. no reserve. ebay no. 2056091033. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/ebayisapi.dll?viewitem&item=2056091033

antique lamp: for future referance please don't post photo's to a non-binary newsgroup. a link to the picture(s) on your webspace is going to generate a lot more response than a photo attached to your post. i've seen the cutting that is on your lamp before, it's by one of the better depression era glass companies, heisey, cambidge, fostoria....can't remember. i like old lamps....the cord on that one is nothing short of scary though. if you are going to use it, have it rewired. when i sell such lamps, i either cut the cords or rewire them. when i first started selling antiques i'd sell a lamp with an old ratty cord, but a dear friend who took me under his wing told me not to do that, too much potential liability if someone is dumb enough to use a lamp with a frayed cord. not even worth the chance on a quasi antique lamp. jessica
