antique picture: i am looking for help. i would like to reproduce the carved adornments on antique picture frames. i have made a poly/latex mold, but i am unable to find a suitable filler. i know there is a receipe for mixing the compound used for the originals. i have tried plaster mixed with a polymer and sawdust mix, but neither can be sawn & sanded effectively. can anyone help me with my search? thanks joan
antique picture: i have a freeforn peyote necklace in an antique picture frame, i took out the glass and inserted a piece of cardboard, covered in velvet and pinned the necklace to it, i also use something similar when i'm doing shows. now this picture frame is a strange one, i painted it titanium white,(folk art paint) which reacted to the wood and turned pale green. i dry brushed the moulded detail in gold, looks interesting and the necklace is very touchable.... just ask my kids!

antique picture: joining the museum's wood-carved steeplechase horses, fun-house distortion mirrors and "cases and cases of great antique souvenirs," the picture reel contains some 200 slides made from a silent film shot by edison's cohorts, a copy of which was obtained by the museum from the library of congress.
