antique pocket watch: i having trouble removing the stem on an antique waltham pocket watch. i've tried each of the screws near the winding gear, and had no luck. i think i must be missing something obvious, but what? for ref. it's a 3/4 plate movement aaron
antique pocket watch: i have an antique pocket watch with the name "juden" on the face. it is small - approximately 1" x 1.5" - and is in a faux-leather case. there are no other markings/serial numbers that i can see, though there may be some on the movement (i'm afraid to take it apart). there are markings on the inside of the case - "nickel chromin" appears twice - once on each side of the case. antique pocket watch: hello my friend picked up an antique pocket watch at a fair and would like some history behind it. it was made by pierre chesnon approx 1680-1690 in amsterdam. he mentioned it had an english movement??? it is covered in black leather with what appears to be a coat of arms on with a coronet/crown with what appears to be a gwe in calligraphy. any help would be greatly appreciated. antique pocket watch: i am very heavy into transistor radios and have a couple hundred of them and repair them with little trouble . i had a coule guys buying them on ebay then sending them to me for repair . you really have to see the neet ones in person to realize how nice and or stylish they are . many of the japan ones are very good looking with reverse painted parts on the front they remind me of looking in the back of an antique pocket watch very fine detail went into them , the early japan ones are fairly heavy too. other japan ones used very tastfully designed aluminum faces and colorfull badges inlaid with porcelain and nice looking textured speaker grilles while some had chrome on a red plastic case . antique pocket watch: my thoughts exactly! my first husband was an ascot type ( a new euphemism!) and although the marriage failed, we remain good friends! (he also loved those tailored western shirts, antique silver belt buckles and carried an antique pocket watch-how could i have been so blind?- *sigh* it was 1971 and i was 19 and in love) just to show how times have changed, my daughter and her friends think it's really cool that my first husband was an ascot wearer, but then they're theatre people! ;) mickeyc | |
