antique poster: as a closing footnote, as one poster indicated gregorian telescopes seem the most numerous of antique reflectors, the height of their popularity probably being reached in the 18th century. i've often thought they were more for show than use as many surviving examples have very poor optical qualities. perhaps they were meant more as objects of conversation in a rich man's home, much like an lx90 perched on some penthouse balcony today.
antique poster: amagine being in a major car accident in your antique automobile. not a vw poster but thoes huge metal ones with all the curves i think they might be a 40's ford or chevrolet. the worst part is you couldn't avoid that accident because the car you are driving didn't have sufficient brakes for modern driving conditions... and not only that but you have no seatbelt! the amount of money you put into your antique is now irrelevant because you and your family have all died the day you took your dinasour age ford to the freeway and totalled it. a car designed when safety wassn't an issue... :-( just awfull
