antique print: let's see... i have two "art posters" (from college) in inexpensive plexiglass frames; an antique print from my grandmother; a poster designed by an artist friend, and signed, in a metal frame; a small landscape oil painting and another smaller watercolor that were gifts from family; and several really nice framed prints/paintings that i either bought at a yard sale or found setting out by the trash. (it's amazing what people will throw away!). oh, and diplomas - my husband's and mine (five in total!).
antique print: there's a wonderful gallery near the ferry dock. we found a beautiful antique print of st georges which we had framed and gave to steve's boss at the time, who had married her husband there a few years before (they're both sailors and own a boat that they keep moored beside their condo in alameda). while we were browsing, we met stephen card, totally unaware of his credentials, and we discussed some of his works which were on display there. charming, wonderful, delightful. this is only one of a number of magical experiences which made us love bermuda.
antique print: as i'm sure you're aware, the la times is notorious for the length of its "special feature" articles. my friend there recently sent me one such lengthy discourse on the subject of ut austin's "library" known to those of us natives as the harry ransom research center. the article focused on the various "manuscripts" in the archives of the ransom while never mentioning the vast antique print collection there, and barely touched on the photography collection, which is also second to none. and then the article made the glaring error of mentioning that the ransom housed "one" of the only five gutenberg bibles, while in point of fact the ransom houses two of them.

antique print: scarberia is proud to offer... an 1889 antique magazine print from harpers weekly magazine, showing a drawing of the town of johnstown pennsylvania after the devastating ddam break and resulting flood. the print has some light marks. item was removed from a magazine and measures approximately 7.5" x 11.25".
