antique safe: usually the cost of repairs and restoration to an antique safe are greater than the value of the safe itself, thus why no one wants to buy it. case in point, over the summer there was a small (500 pound) safe offered to me by a dealer for $5. it happened to be locked shut without a combination. by the end of the day selling in the field the guy was willing to give it to me because he knew that my dad sold safes. it was still his at the end of the day. even for free it still had negitive value.
antique safe: lmoa....okay my dad owns a company that sells bank equipment, but he also stocks antique safes. thus why i can sometimes track down info and the value that no one wants to hear on these ton plus wonders. anyway, at one point dad had company t-shirts made up with "safe sex" on the back, yep one safe on top of another. they were a big hit among employees and bankers alike.
antique safe: i inherited an antique safe made by maerki. i have the correct combination numbers but the instructions do not include the proper turn sequencing (ie 4 to the right, 3 to the left, etc). is anybody familiar with this safe and/or able to help? thanks in advance
antique safe: i was the keeper of the safe combo for my gramma. our family has an amazing antique safe, huge with lovely art and soft velvet and felt linings to the drawers and shelves. my dad and his brothers each knew only one number of the combo, and they knew them in birth order. gramma did it that way not because she mistrusted them, but because she never wanted them to accuse each other of taking something. before the days of atms, you always knew you could borrow money from gram on a long weekend because she kept so much money in the safe "just in case."
antique safe: i think that everything is about as perfect as i can make it. all of the functionality seems to work correctly, even under stress tests. it looks like it is also as exception safe as possible. i have provided my own pseudo exception mechanism. it works on every operating system, and with several different compilers, both modern and antique. i would estimate that it is also thread safe. it there anything that anyone can suggest to in any way improve the quality of the current code?
