antique sword: investment katana's are usually new swords made by great masters in japan or, when available, antique katana's made by masters in japan. most antiques were war trophies and japan has been working hard to bring home all antique katana's; feeling that they are national treasures. in general, no antique katana's currently in japan are allowed to leave their shores (iirc). new katana's by modern masters aren't cheap though. bring your wallet.
antique sword: the sword of the rajput is an antique indian cavalry sword dating from about 1760, purchased in jaipur in 1993. the sword should have been taken back to the uk on a flight out of kathmandu, but due to political turmoil it was impossible to take the sword out of nepal. it was left with family friends in kathmandu who have looked after it, and with whom it has remained ever since.
