antique table: antique table with self-storing leaf, 5 side chairs and 1 arm chair. mostly stripped and ready for someone in need of a refinishing project. china cabinet and buffet also available for $100 each, or will make you a great deal if you take it all! follow links for pictures: http://trifs.dyndns.org/table1.jpg http://trifs.dyndns.org/table2.jpg http://trifs.dyndns.org/chairs1.jpg http://trifs.dyndns.org/chairs2.jpg antique table: i have an antique dining table (circa 1860) that has been stored in a basement for 20 years and has'nt been polished in at least that time. it is not particularly valuable but is worth restoring. i want to remove grime and dirt marks without removing the original finish. i do not want to strip it and it will need a little more than the addition of a polish such as howards. i know some will say don't touch it but it really is grungy. i guess the fine line is how much clean up before you start affecting the patina. if anyone can recommend restoration techniques and any non-abrasive cleaning products and methods of using them i would much appreciate it. my inclination is soap and water and then a light polish but it may take more to remove grime. thanks antique table: for sale beautiful antique dining room or kitchen table, approximately 45 inches in diameter, on a pedestal base which has casters. table is in good condition. $400.00 located n north hills area. 412-364-9787 http://members.aol.com/chazual1/table3.jpg http://members.aol.com/chazual1/table4.jpg http://members.aol.com/chazual1/table5.jpg http://members.aol.com/chazual1/table6.jpg antique table: my husband and i sometimes watch "antique roadshow" and we've discussed this question before. if we had some 300 year old antique table, a family heirloom, that could be sold for half a million dollars, would we? | |
