antique tool: yea, i know what you mean. i did find one on a web site for sale at close to $100. so i was dreaming, or maybe that guy is dreaming. http://www.antique-used-tools.com/gpdrill316.jpg and search for gpdrill316, it's about 1/2 way down the page. i'll put it on ebay one of these days.
antique tool: finding older woodworking tools in the denver area can be very difficult because there is an active antique tool collectors group in the denver area which seems to have connections that you and i don't have. a few of the members (i am not a member btw) maintain booths in some of the antique co-op guilds, but don't really have a store.
antique tool: i tried "antique tool wear" they stopped making tee shirts. i have got more remarks or compliments on the one i have. i spoke to woodcraft and the manager said that the reason they don't carry them anymore is because of copyright. so that is the story as far as i know.
antique tool: aaron, don't know of any old tool stores in orange county but there is a great antique tool store in the city of santa monica, about 35 miles northwest of orange county. can't think of the name of it off hand but it is a great store...when are you going? if it's not right away i might be able to find out the name and address for you.
antique tool: also, for those who may be interested, i have updated my hand tool pages to show a number of tools that i found on two motor trips this year to the upper midwest and southeastern states. i fear that i am becoming a "collector", although i still adhere to my definition of "user" by cleaning, sharpening, and putting each newly acquired antique tool into good working order.
