antique wedding band: http://hfxtrade.tripod.com/ this antique is 70 years old and has a .33 krt diamond set in 14 krt gold. size 6 i'd say,im my mom wants 700.oo but we can talk. includes wedding band (14krt gold) hearts.
antique wedding band: now see, a girl after my own heart. i agree totally, i *hate* gaudy jewelry. i love rings that are vintage, and the bigger the diamond, the more i am more likely to hate it. my engagement ring and wedding band were bought at a local jeweler's who specializes in antique rings. it's from the 1920's and is very nice. 1 carat or so diamond in the center, smaller diamonds all around the band. antique wedding band: it seems like you've already had all the likely suggestions -- ebay, local classifieds, pawn shops, jewelry dealers, or trying to trade it back for store credit. unfortunately, i don't think that there is any route where you'll get back the full amount you paid for this thing. "estate" jewelry prices tend to run a lot lower than retail prices for new jewelry in similar styles; when you're reselling jewelry it *might* command slightly higher prices if it's old enough to be considered vintage or antique, or if it's a more unique design with some artistic interest (and/or a collectible designer piece) beyond the typical plain wedding band or solitaire engagement ring. in your case, having all the original tiffany packaging and paperwork would likely make this piece a bit more attractive to some buyers -- but the higher resale price you could get compared to a generic "tiffany-style" mall ring is still not going to make up for the real tiffany markup you originally paid. antique wedding band: the limitation that gets to me the most is jewelry. and nails. long nails are a definite no no, even if you have them they won't last long. large earring, bracelets or necklaces will get you hurt. somedays i don't even wear my wedding band, but i never go to work without my st. michael's medal. i have two. ond in yellow gold and an antique pewter one, so i have one to match whatever color i'm in for the day. also the peweter one is on a really long chain that can't be seen. antique wedding band: hi mark, recently i sold two of my favourite antique diatonic accordions which were completely restored and worth a lot of money. one of them was played by my uncle in an israeli wedding band and the other was my grandfathers who died at the hands of nazi's in rumania in ww2. the second was saved by my mother who was a teenager at the time. | |
