rustic pine furniture: i just purchased some rustic pine furniture that was imported from mexico. i believe the furniture has only been stained. what would be the best way to protect the finish on this furniture? i like natural look and really don't want to add any shine to the furniture.
rustic pine furniture: well, i suppose you could leave the bark on. i didn't know what a rustic pine look is, so i looked in the dictionary, and among other definitions of rustic, this popped up: (arch. & woodwork) summer houses, or furniture for summer houses, etc., made of rough limbs of trees fancifully arranged. rustic pine furniture: i just helped a friend refinish a 25 year old dresser made of pine. the piece was in excellent condition with the exception of the marks he had made by banging on it with a hairbrush when he was a child. we ended up leaving most of these marks and adding a few more to even out the look. it actually matches the rustic pine sleigh bed which he recently purchased from a custom furniture store. rustic pine furniture: you could make it a mexican themed room. furniture of rustic pine, accessories of black wrought iron, or just painted black. add splashes of turquoise, vibrant pink or deep rose, yellow. a serape or mexican/indian rug or two. some brilliant flowers and terracotta pots. rustic pine furniture: i'm preparing to decorate my apartment living room with a cozy, morocco-meets-mexico style using rustic pine furniture and burgundy accents, persian throws, etc. i'd like to paint the walls a nice pale peach for a warm "spanish hacienda" look. | |
